Pune: The Bombay High Court has taken suo moto cognizance of the deaths in the government hospitals in Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar districts of Maharashtra. 

The court itself has taken serious notice of the matter and filed a suo moto petition.

As per further information, the Eknath Shinde government sent Girish Mahajan and Hasan Mushrif to Nanded to review the situation as Nanded witnessed the death of 31 patients in just 36 hours at the Government Medical College and Hospital. The state government has constituted a committee to investigate the matter. Also, 10 people including two infants were reported dead in a Government Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took serious note of the matter and assured that strict action will be taken against all the culprits. Shinde said that a preliminary investigation revealed that there was no shortage of medicine, doctors or other staff, yet such an accident took place. They will thoroughly investigate the matter and take further action.
