90,000 Pune residents opt for e-bill from MSEDCL

Pune: At least 92,813 Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) consumers have opted for only ’email’ and ‘SMS’ to generate bills in the Pune division under the MSEDCL’s ‘Go Green’ scheme. This has helped the government body save Rs 1,11,37,560 annually. Furthermore, in the last 20 days, 2681 new electricity consumers from Pune were added to this scheme. 

According to MSEDCL Mahavitaran’s ‘Go-Green’ scheme, a discount of Rs 10 will be given on the electricity bill if the customers opt for this bill.  As soon as the electricity bill is generated, it is sent through the computerized system to the consumers of ‘Go-Green’ through ‘e-mail’ and SMS. This scheme has facilitated prompt payment from customers and it is the need of the hour, said Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer of MSEDCL. 

Under Pune Division, 49,492 customers in Pune city have participated in the ‘Go-Green’ scheme. Out of this, 5544 customers are from the Hadapsar-1 sub-division, 4875 in Vadgaon Dhayari, 4571 in Dhankawadi and 3658 in the Vishrantwadi sub-division are significant. In the city of Pimpri Chinchwad, 27,019 customers are part of the ‘Go-Green’ initiative. 

While 8319 customers are from Sangvi, 5164 are from Akurdi and 5342 from Chinchwad sub-division.  Also, 16122 consumers are part of the  ‘Go-Green’ in Ambegaon, Junnar, Khed, Maval, Mulshi, Velhe and Haveli talukas under Pune Rural Division. Among these, Hadapsar rural sub-division has the highest number of 4,353 customers.

To opt for MSEDCL’s ‘Go-Green’ scheme, customers should register the 15-digit GGN number printed on the electricity bill through Mahavitaran’s mobile app or by visiting Mahavitaran’s website https://billing.mahadiscom.in/gogreen.php. More information is available at www.mahadiscom.in website.
