In a recent violent episode in Pune’s Jai Prakashnagar, four youths armed with knives engaged in a spree of vandalism.
Early on Monday morning an outburst was reported in retaliation for the murder of an alleged “brother” of the group. The youths targeted various vehicles including rickshaws, tempos and two-wheelers parked on the streets. They were seen damaging these vehicles while shouting threats like, “Our brother is gone, we will not spare anyone now.”
In addition to the vandalism, the group attempted to stab a local youth, further escalating the situation. Yerawada police have filed a case against the four unknown suspects. An investigation is ongoing to apprehend the culprits and uncover more details about the motive behind the violence.
The community is questioning the identity of the “brother” for whom the youths are seeking revenge. The incident has left residents in fear and confusion and the police are under pressure to resolve the case promptly.
