According to the latest update from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the state will experience reduced rainfall until August 15. However, there is a gradual increase in rainfall expected from August 22, which is likely to continue through the end of the month. So far this monsoon season, the state has received 29% more rainfall than the average, leading to challenges for farmers in certain areas.
The IMD’s model guidance for the period from August 11 to 14 indicates a possibility of good rainfall in several regions. Areas including West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, parts of Uttarakhand, and the northeastern states may see significant precipitation. Additionally, parts of the southern peninsula, including Maharashtra, are expected to receive light to moderate rains.
Farmers in the state are already facing difficulties due to the excess rainfall, which has led to waterlogging and other issues. The IMD advises keeping an eye on their updates to stay informed about any changes in the weather patterns.
While the state has enjoyed a surplus of rainfall this season, the upcoming days will bring varying weather conditions, with the potential for increased precipitation later in the month.
