Due to the current adverse weather conditions in Pune, the number of residents falling ill has risen significantly, particularly among children. The October heat combined with cloudy skies and rainfall has created a favorable environment for viral infections, leading to an increase in cases of flu, cold, fever, and cough.

Health experts are warning that the ongoing weather conditions are conducive to the spread of infections. A pediatrician noted a higher incidence of flu among children, with symptoms including cold, fever, cough, and diarrhea. Parents are advised to keep sick children at home to prevent the spread of illness in schools, as there has been an approximate 30% increase in patient numbers.

A doctor emphasized that the current climate is a contributing factor to rising viral infections. Although cases of dengue and chikungunya have decreased, respiratory issues are on the rise, and pneumonia cases are also being reported. Immediate medical attention is recommended when symptoms appear.
