Today, November 20, health staff are on high alert across Maharashtra to ensure the medical safety of voters. Medical officers, Asha workers, and auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs) have been deployed at each polling booth to provide first aid in case of medical emergencies. This initiative aims to guarantee that no voter faces medical issues while exercising their right to vote.

The PCMC health department has taken proactive measures to ensure voters’ well-being. Dr. Laxman Gophane, medical officer, stated to a media person that a medical team will be deployed at each booth, and ambulances will be on standby to attend to emergencies . Additionally, wheelchairs have been placed at each booth to facilitate voting for persons with disabilities.

To promote voter awareness, posters have been put up at hospitals, and stamps on OPD prescription papers encourage people to cast their vote. Hospital staff have also taken an oath to vote, demonstrating their commitment to the democratic process.
