Pune: Biker Attacks Traffic Cop After Being Pulled Over for Using Phone; Video Emerges.
A traffic police officer in Pune was assaulted after stopping a biker who was using his phone while riding.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening at Bhekarai Nagar Chowk in Fursungi.
Constable Rajesh Ganpat Naik, 47, was on duty when he spotted a man on a bike talking on his phone around 5:30 p.m.
He instructed the biker to pull over and advised him against using his phone while driving.
The biker became aggressive, verbally attacked Naik, and engaged in a confrontation. He then picked up a stone from the ground and hit Naik on the head.
Naik sustained serious injuries and is now being treated at a private hospital.
A case has been registered at Fursungi police station for obstructing government work.
The assailant fled the scene, and the police are conducting a search to apprehend him.
