Pune Grand Tour Stage 2: Roads To Remain Closed In Kondhwa And Lulla Nagar, Traffic Diversions Announced
Pune, January 20: In view of the second stage of the Pune Grand Tour cycling competition scheduled to be held on Wednesday, January 21, traffic restrictions and route diversions have been imposed across parts of the city. The Pune Traffic Police have urged citizens to cooperate and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav, the cycling event will pass through several key routes including Ladies Club, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue Chowk, Golibar Maidan Chowk, Sheetal Petrol Pump, Khadi Machine Chowk, Trinity College, Bopdev Ghat, Khadakwasla, Kirkatwadi and Nanded City.
Due to the event, several roads will remain closed during the race. These include stretches from Blue Nile Hotel area to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue Chowk, Khanya Maruti Chowk to Solapur Bazaar Chowki, Golibar Maidan to Lulla Nagar Chowk, Jyoti Hotel Chowk to Sheetal Petrol Pump, Khadi Machine Chowk, Yeolewadi to Bopdev Ghat, Khadakwasla to Sinhagad Road, Kirkatwadi to Nanded City, and Warje Bridge to Nanded City. Major traffic impact is expected in the Kondhwa and Lulla Nagar areas.
Alternative Routes Advised:
Traffic heading towards Golibar Maidan Chowk via Koyaji Road, MG Road, Bhairoba Nala, Lulla Nagar Chowk, Gangadham Chowk, Dhobighat Chowk, Dias Plot Chowk and Giridhar Bhavan Chowk will be restricted. Vehicles will be diverted via Seven Loves Chowk, Vakhar Mahamandal Chowk and Gangadham Chowk.
Similarly, traffic from Mammad Devi Chowk, Bhairoba Nala, Lulla Nagar, Gangadham, Seven Loves, Sheetal Petrol Pump, Kausarbagh, Ganga Satellite Society and Netaji Nagar will be diverted via the under-bridge route. Vehicles coming from Kanha Hotel, Mithanagar, Aai Mata Temple and Mantarwadi side will be redirected through Gangadham Chowk, Lulla Nagar Chowk, Bhairoba Nala Chowk, Ashram Road, NIBM Road, Ganga Satellite Society and Netaji Nagar.
Additional alternative routes include Shriram Chowk to Yeolewadi, Dharmavat Petrol Pump to Yeolewadi, Hadapsar–Saswad–Bopdev Ghat, Katraj–Shindewadi–Bopdev Ghat, Khadakwasla to Kirkatwadi via Panshet Road, and Kirkatwadi to Nanded City via NDA Link Road and NDA Shivane Road, as well as through DSK Vishwa and Vadgaon Dhayari.
Citizens are advised to plan their travel in advance and follow traffic police instructions to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
