Pune Horror: Husband Allegedly Throws Acid On Wife's Private Parts, Locks Her Inside House For 15 Days
Pune | January 27, 2026: A shocking incident of violence and robbery was reported in Pune’s Viman Nagar area late Saturday night, allegedly triggered by anger over a cheque bounce case. A businessman and his partner were intercepted on the road, assaulted, robbed, and their motorcycle was set on fire in a bid to intimidate them.
According to police, the complainant Fahimuddin Mujibuddin Sheikh (44) had supplied POP material worth ₹7.78 lakh to accused Haider Ali Shah on credit. Haider had issued a cheque for the amount, which later bounced. Following this, Fahimuddin initiated legal proceedings, a move that reportedly enraged the accused.
The incident occurred around 12:45 am on January 25, when Fahimuddin and his partner Rozlin were travelling on a motorcycle near Sanjay Park in Viman Nagar. The accused and their associates allegedly stopped them on the road, threatened them with weapons, and brutally assaulted Fahimuddin.
Police said the attackers forcibly snatched ₹2 lakh in cash and a bag from Rozlin. To create fear and send a warning, the accused allegedly poured inflammable material on the motorcycle and set it ablaze in the middle of the road before fleeing the spot.
Following a swift investigation, the Airport Police arrested two main accused — Haider Ali Shah (30) and Rais Pasha (25). A case has been registered against them for robbery, assault, criminal intimidation, and arson. Police are currently searching for five other accomplices who are absconding.
Officials said further arrests are expected as efforts are underway to trace the remaining suspects.
The incident has sparked concern among local residents, raising fresh questions about safety and law enforcement during late-night hours in the area.
