Commuters on the Alandi-Pandharpur Palakhi Highway should plan their travel carefully today, as the Dive Ghat section will be completely closed for two hours to facilitate road widening work. The closure will be in effect from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM between Hadapsar and Dive Ghat. Traffic authorities have confirmed that no vehicles will be allowed to pass through this stretch during the specified hours.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is accelerating the highway widening project to improve connectivity and ease traffic flow. As part of the work at Dive Ghat, explosives will be used to break through the rocky terrain. To ensure the safety of travelers and vehicles during the blasting operations, the authorities have decided to halt all traffic temporarily.
Traffic police have strongly advised commuters to make use of alternative routes during this period. Since Dive Ghat is a critical section of the highway, the closure is expected to temporarily impact the usual traffic flow. Himmat Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), issued a special appeal urging drivers and citizens to cooperate with the temporary restrictions. “The road widening work requires controlled blasting, and safety is our top priority. Motorists are requested to strictly follow the guidance and choose alternate routes during the closure,” he stated.
The temporary halt in traffic will necessitate minor adjustments to the overall traffic management in the area. Travelers are advised to schedule their journeys accordingly and remain patient while authorities carry out the construction work safely. Traffic police have provided information regarding alternative routes to minimize inconvenience, and all commuters are urged to comply for a smoother experience.
