New Delhi, April 6, 2026: In a coordinated operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have apprehended two individuals in Mumbai over an alleged plan to carry out a terror attack in the national capital.

The suspects, identified as Mossab Ahdam alias Kalam Kalyan and Mohammad Hamad Kollara, were detained in Mumbai and subsequently taken to Delhi for further questioning.

According to investigators, the duo is believed to have been heavily radicalised and may have connections with extremist organisations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Islamic State. Officials also indicated that the suspects were active in online extremist circles, including groups like “Mission Khilafat” and “Soldiers of Prophet.”

Preliminary findings suggest that the accused were in contact with an online handler known as Abu Hufezah, who is suspected of involvement in recruitment activities linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed. Authorities believe the suspects were influenced through digital propaganda and guidance.

Investigators revealed that the two individuals were allegedly attempting to learn how to assemble improvised explosive devices and were planning to execute an attack in Delhi using explosives hidden inside a toy car.

Security agencies are also examining whether the case is connected to a broader network operating across the country. Sources indicated that several minors in Mumbai, suspected of exposure to extremist propaganda linked to ISIS, are currently under scrutiny.

Officials stated that interrogation is ongoing to uncover further details about the suspected network, including funding sources, communication channels, and intended targets.
