Bharatiya Janata Party in Pimpri Chinchwad has written a second letter to the commissioner of the PCMC to waive off the cost for vaccination for the PCMC citizens. The first letter written by BJP MLA and the city president, Mahesh Landge, to the then commissioner, Shravan Hardikar, had stressed on the need to provide vaccine free off cost to the common people of Pimpri Chinchwad. In its second response, the BJP MLA, Laxman Jagtap, has written a letter to PCMC Commissioner, Rajesh Patil, to provide vaccination free off cost to the citizens.

In his letter to the commissioner, Laxman Jagtap has stated “Entire world is today battling against COVID. Many lives have lost due to COVID in India. In order to tackle the crisis, the doctors and pharma companies came up with a vaccine, which is rolled out for the front line workers and COVID warriors. Now, we have also started vaccinating the senior citizens and comorbid senior citizen group. I would request the PCMC to waive off the charges for vaccination so that no oerson in our society is left out in this fight againt pandemic.”

However, the Shivsena head in PCMC and political rival of MLA Laxman Jagtap, Rahul Kalate, has questioned the BJP MLA’s inaction and absence from being in touch with the people.

While talking with Pune Pulse, he said, “The honourable MLA doesn’t meet the public, but keeps writing letters. How is that useful? As a leader, isn’t he supposed to come out in public; understand their issues and then start escalting their problems ahead. Such a letter makes sense only when the MLA is available to discuss the problems amongst the public; with the public and for the public. It is indeed an inaction from his side.”
