Samruddhi Mahamarg witnesses record-break plying of vehicles during Diwali

Samruddhi Expressway Final Phase Completed: Mumbai-Nagpur Travel Reduced to 8 Hours, Inauguration Soon
This year, there was a significant number of people traveling by car and reaching Nagpur via Samruddhi Mahamarg from Pune, Nashik Mumbai etc. In terms of statistics, from November 1 to 21, as many as 5.5 lakh small and big four-wheelers travelled on this highway.
About 11,000 to 13,000 cars ply on Samriddhi Highway every day. However, with the onset of Diwali holidays, the number of cars increased significantly from November 16.
Compared to the first few days of October, there was an increase of about 1.25 lakh cars in November. 2 lakh 65 thousand 280 cars traveled between October 1 and 21. As many as 3 lakh 82 thousand 416 cars traveled during the same period in November. The number of other vehicles did not make much difference. The number of small cargo vehicles, two, three or four to six axles was less than one-and-a-half thousand.
For major cities like Pune, Mumbai, Amravati, Akola, Wardha, people preferred the Samriddhi Highway. Many people shared their experience that during these Diwali days, only more & more vehicles were seen on Samruddhi Mahamarg. Passengers coming from Pune also said that the journey from Pune to Samruddhi Mahamarg has become troublesome as the traffic is frequently blocked.
On Lakshmi Pujan day (12th November 2023), as many as 23 thousand 340 cars ran on Samriddhi Highway. Also, after Diwali, many people emphasized on returning to their hometowns on Saturday, November 18. That is why 30 thousand 543 cars travelled on Samruddhi Mahamarg on 18th November.
