The fares of the soon-to-be-launched Amrit Bharat Express trains will remain 15–17% higher than the corresponding class of travel in Mail/Express trains, according to Indian Railways.

According to a railway official, the base fare for unreserved second-class coaches is approximately 17% more than that of unreserved coaches in other Mail/Express trains.

According to the official, this is because of the numerous extra passenger comforts in the train.

On December 30, Indian Railways will launch the first two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, which will be piloted by PM Narendra Modi. The first train will travel via Ayodhya from Anand Vihar in Delhi to Darbhanga in Bihar, and the second train will travel between Bengaluru and Malda.

For travel on the Amrit Bharat Express trains within a 50-kilometer radius, the minimum fare for a second-class coach is Rs 35. This base fare is Rs 30 for a second-class trip on a Mail/Express train. For travels up to 15 kilometres, the minimum fare for the sleeper class is Rs 46; for trips up to 50 kilometres, it is Rs 65.

For travel up to 5000 kilometres, the minimum fare for second class and sleeper class will be Rs 933 and Rs 1469, respectively. This fare does not include the reservation fee, additional charges for superfast trains, Goods and Service Tax (GST), or any other additional fees that may apply.

For passengers using non-AC coaches, Amrit Bharat Express trains are predicted to bring in a new era of train travel. The new train’s maximum allowable speed will be 130 kmph and it will operate on push-pull technology.

With a WAP5 6,000 HP locomotive at each end of the train, push-pull technology will allow for quicker acceleration and deceleration, cutting down on travel time.
