Kapil Sharma, an actor and comedian, strongly criticized Indigo for causing a prolonged delay at Chennai airport, leaving passengers waiting for hours.

Sharma condemned the airline’s behavior as “shameless” and accused them of “lying” to the passengers regarding the cause of the delay.

Kapil Sharma took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday night to share a series of tweets, revealing that his flight was scheduled to depart at 8 pm, but at 9.20 pm, passengers were stranded at the airport.

As per the information provided, Indigo made all passengers sit in the bus for 50 minutes before notifying them of the flight delay due to the pilot being stuck in traffic. Once the passengers finally boarded the plane, they were forced to wait even longer before being deboarded by Indigo and informed that they would be flying out on a different aircraft. Understandably frustrated, the passengers were then required to return to the terminal and go through security once again.

Kapil Sharma expressed his disappointment towards Indigo, stating that the passengers were made to wait in the bus for 50 minutes and now the team is claiming that the pilot is stuck in traffic. Despite the scheduled take off time being 8 pm, it is now 9:20 and there is still no pilot in the cockpit. Sharma questions whether the 180 passengers will choose to fly with Indigo again after this experience.

In a subsequent update, he posted a video of passengers deboarding  from the plane. The final tweet of the evening depicted frustrated passengers engaged in a heated exchange with an Indigo employee due to several delays, insisting on speaking with someone in a position of power.

Sharma expressed his discontent, stating that Indigo’s continuous lies have caused immense suffering to people. He further highlighted the plight of elderly passengers in wheelchairs who were also affected by the delays caused by Indigo.

In response to Sharma’s complaint, the airline acknowledged that the flight had experienced delays due to operational reasons at Chennai airport.
