Concerns about unauthorized building and traffic problems have led to conversations in the villages around Pune about the need to create a separate municipal corporation in order to promote better development.

In response to this concern, District Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar proposed that Dehu, Alandi, Chakan, and Rajgurunagar be combined into a third unified municipal corporation within the Pune district.

As per further information from the X handle of Ajit Pawar “Bhoomipujan of Lohegaon-Wagholi Common Water Supply Scheme at Lohgaon, Dhanori Survey no. 7 The Bhoomi Puja program of the water tank to be constructed here was held. Illegal constructions and road problems arise in villages near the city. Therefore, it is necessary to have a municipal corporation for proper development and it is being considered whether Dehu, Alandi, Chakan, Rajgurunagar can be made into a municipal corporation.”

The tweet further says “Necessary efforts will be made to solve the problems of Lohgaon. If the road under the Defense Department is removed from the outside, the airport here can be expanded and large international planes can land. Any development projects require space. If there are any difficulties regarding the evaluation of the place, a way will be worked out by talking to the registration department.”

The tweet continues “The population of Pune has increased significantly. People come to Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad in search of employment. They have to provide facilities like water, health, shelter etc. Due to this, the agriculture in Indapur, Haveli, Daund, Purandar talukas is getting less water. In order to save water, there is a plan to make a tunnel instead of a canal. Along with water from Pune, efforts are on to get water from Tata Dam for agriculture. It said that STPs will be set up wherever necessary to treat the used sewage and make it suitable for agriculture.”

The tweet further continues “There has been a substantial increase in the funds of the District Planning Committee to provide facilities to the citizens. BRT lane of PMPML was closed to solve the problem of traffic jam at Lohgaon. Also a flyover is required as a permanent solution. After the ring road, this problem will be solved to a large extent.”

The tweet further said “The state government is trying to solve the problems of citizens. Recruitment in the state has been started on a large scale. Along with this, efforts are being made to get employment for the youth in various establishments through employment fairs. A new youth policy will be made in the state. New employable courses have been introduced in ITI, which will benefit the youth.”

The tweet concludes “To speed up the important projects in the state, a project coordination committee has been formed and through it, projects of various subjects like metro, ring road, big hospitals, ports, coastal road etc. are being speeded up. It is said that efforts are being made to make roads of concrete instead of asphalt in order to have durable roads across the state.”
