Ambulance Collides with Truck Near Dari Bridge in Jambhulwadi ; Patient Dead and Driver Seriously Injured

On 12th September, an ambulance & a truck collided fiercely near Dari Bridge in Jambhulwadi. The ambulance carrying the patient has died & the driver has been severely injured in the accident. 

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vinayak Gaikwad, Police Inspector, Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, said “An ambulance, which was speeding towards a hospital with a cancer patient, a minor boy, hit a truck in front of it from behind. In this terrible accident, a minor boy who was a patient was seriously injured. He was immediately rushed to Sasoon hospital however, he died immediately after reaching. The driver and three others in the ambulance were seriously injured.”

As per further information from Gaikwad, the accident took place on Jambhulwadi road near Dari Bridge next to Katraj tunnel on Tuesday (12th September). 

A case has been registered against the ambulance driver in Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The injured ambulance driver is being treated &, when he is all right, further investigation into this matter will take place.
