Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: 10 Railway stations in Pune division to be revamped. Here are the details
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the Foundation Stone for station upgradation work of various stations across the Country on February 26, 2024. As per information, the Prime Minister will inaugurate / dedicate 1500 Road Over Bridges (ROB) and Road Under Bridges (RUB) and will lay the foundation stone for transformation of 554 stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
It is worthy to note that the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a visionary initiative brought to life by the Prime Minister, under which 1309 railway stations across the nation will be revitalized and transformed into world class terminals with modern amenities, breathing new life into travel hubs and enhancing the overall passenger experience so that even a common railway passenger experiences a comfortable, convenient and enjoyable rail travel. In this year’s budget, Maharashtra has got a record allocation of 15554 Cr and 56 stations have been planned to be developed as world class railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme.
Out of these 56 stations,10 stations on Central Railway’s Pune Division are among those which will go through a massive transformation and redevelopment. Here is a sneak peek at the redevelopment of 10 railway stations in Pune Division of Central Railway. These stations are Dehu road, Chinchwad, Hadapsar, Uruli, Kedgaon, Baramati, Lonand, Wathar, Karad and Sangli.
Scope of work at Amrit Stations Pune Division
DEHUROAD
1. Façade: Provision of main entrance gate with façade improvement.
2. Portico: New portico is being constructed.
3. Circulating area: Development of circulating area with parking facilities and landscaping on both side entry along with covered pedestrian pathway from parking to entrance.
4. Second entry: Provision of new entrance lobby at second entry equipped with multiple amenities including improved toilets, water booth, ATVMs and improved sitting facilities.
5. COP & PF surface: Provision of full cover over platform (COP) along with platform surface improvement.
6. Seating facilities: Provision of additional modular furniture to enhance the seating capacity in waiting rooms and platforms.
7. Toilet Block: Provision of new improved toilets and water booths with enhancement of water supply system.
8. Divyangjan facilities: Provision of divyangjan friendly toilets and water booths along with other facilities like ramp and separate parking.
9. Illumination: Improvement to illumination of complete station premises including all rooms circulating area etc.
10. Signage: Provision of coach indication board, train information system with video display unit and improved signages to facilitate passengers. (Partly divided into Phase-I & II)
11. Renovation works: Renovation of existing booking office, waiting areas, water booths, toilets.
12. NOTE: Due to proposed alignment of 3rd & 4th line, major development at city side is not feasible.
