As the company’s recent advances towards artificial intelligence, search giant Google plans to reorganize a significant portion of its 30,000-person ad sales unit. Notably, Google made the largest job cut in the company’s history earlier this year when it let go of about 12,000 employees.

As per further information, because Google has introduced new AI-based tools that can automatically suggest and create new ads that perform well for customers and require little attention from employees, many of the jobs in the ad sales unit are being made redundant.

Notably, Google had introduced Performance Max, its AI-powered campaign planner, in 2021. However, at the Google I/O event earlier this year, the company decided to add generative AI-based capabilities to the ad tool, which will facilitate the process of “creating custom assets and scaling them in a few clicks.

Ads for specific Google services, like YouTube, Search, Display, Discover, Gmail, and Maps, no longer require employees with specialized knowledge of selling ads, thanks to the increasing adoption of Performance Max by advertisers.

Google’s AI ads initiative will make artificial intelligence available for website scanning, keyword generation, headline creation, image creation, and other ad elements.

In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) tools have become increasingly popular. Google AI, the company’s own artificial intelligence division, has conducted numerous studies and research projects on how to use AI tools to improve business operations.
