Atharva stars for Pune Pioneers with a ’trick

Pune, 11th May 2022: 4 Lions and Pune Pioneers played out an exciting 4-4 draw in the Under-16 Youth League, while Saswad F.C had an easy 8-1 win over Junnar Taluka in a Second Division encounter of the Poona District Football Association (PDFA) League 2021-22, here on Wednesday, May 11. 
At the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, the star of the day was Atharva Khadtare (30th, 35th, 39th) who netted a hat-trick for Pune Pioneers’ who had just 11 players to field. 4 Lions netted their golds via a brace by Ajay Bajantri (16th, 38th), while Parikshit Gavhankar (39th) and Nipun Bangad (60th) scored 1 goal each. Pune Pioneers struck back through Vighnesh Kadam (26th) before Atharva Khadtare took over by scoring three and win their first point in Pool-C.

In the Third Division, played at the SSPMS Ground, Saswad F.C logged an 8-1 win over Junnar Taluka in Pool-E. The highlight of the game was a 3-goal effort by Sanghamitra Misal (22nd, 40th, 47th) for the winners. A brace by Mihir Pawar (21st, 59th) and a goal each by Pranav Zende (27th), Shoaib Shaikh (31st), Madhav Mahamuni (60+2) completed Saswad F.C tally. Junnar Taluka opened the day by scoring the first goal through Prasad Kabadi (7th).
At SP College, Pool-D witnessed Khadki Blues have Salman Salamani (51sth) strike the match-winner to earn full points against Sukhai F.C which ended 3-2. Gagan Bogar (17th), Sahil Kakade (22th) struck for Khadki Blues, while Sukhai FC had Amol Waghmare (38th), Yash Agarwal (43rd) score.
