Ayaan, Arshaan power St. Arnold’s School to easy wins
Pune: St. Arnold’s Central School rode on the brilliant individual performances of Ayaan Kotwal and Arshaan Siddibilal respectively and stood tall in the Loyola Football Cup powered by Tata Autocomp at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan here on Thursday.
The tournament, organised by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAN) and Loyola High School, Pune, saw St Arnold’s Central School log comfortable wins over Dr. Shamrao Kalmadi H.S to emerge the top team of the day.
In the Under-16 section, St Arnold’s Central School recorded an 8-1 win over Dr. Shamrao Kalmadi HS. The highlight of the match was the four-goal effort by Ayaan who opened his team’s scoring in the second minute and added goals in the 11th, 20th, and 37th minutes respectively. Joining the scorers list for the winners were Ashmit Konnath (42nd, 56th), Ethan Lopes (53rd) and Johan Vinod (55th).
Dr. Shamrao Kalmadi HS pulled one back through Tanish Aychitte (50th).
In the Under-14 section, St. Arnold’s Central School had Arshaan Siddibilal do the star act with a three-goal effort and help his team to a 4-1 win. Arshaan (9th, 27th, 33rd) led the way, while Sanjeet Dias (35th) completed the tally. For the losers, Rudra Nalawade (55th) reduced the margin.
