Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the sacred city of Ayodhya to inaugurate the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham, and unveil the revamped railway station.

This visit precedes the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple scheduled for January 22. During the four-hour visit, the Prime Minister will not only inaugurate the newly constructed airport and redeveloped railway station but will also launch and lay foundation stones for 46 infrastructure projects amounting to ₹15,700 crore. The agenda includes the inauguration of enhanced roads, a medical college, the Ayodhya bypass, a solid waste treatment facility, and five parking and commercial facilities. In a statement posted on X yesterday, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to developing world-class infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and preserving Ayodhya’s rich heritage as the city of Lord Shri Ram.

The Ayodhya airport, with operations commencing on January 6, has been developed at a cost exceeding ₹1,450 crore and is designed to cater to almost 10 lakh passengers annually. The airport will facilitate flights from major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad, connecting devotees from across India to the grand temple of Lord Ram after its consecration.

Simultaneously, the ₹240 crore redeveloped railway station, now named Ayodhya Dham junction, is a three-storey facility equipped with food plazas and waiting rooms, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.
