Balewadi : Perfect 10 Society Residents Express Frustration Over Incomplete Repair of 24×7 Water Pipeline

The road outside Perfect 10 society in Balewadi, Pune is currently undergoing excavation for the repair of a 24×7 water pipeline by L&T. Unfortunately, the previous cement road constructed by the smart city department has been damaged in the process. 

Regrettably, the contractor has neglected to implement safety measures for the local residents and commuters, such as placing barricades around the construction site. As a result, the road has been left in an excavated state for a week now, causing significant inconvenience for the residents of Perfect 10 society. 

Speaking about the problem, Ameya Jagtap, chairman, Perfect 10 society, said, “The road has become narrow and congested with construction heavy vehicles and tankers, making it challenging for residents to exit through their gate. Also the street lights have been removed for the said work making it dark. It is imperative that the contractor adheres to standard safety protocols, and the authorities must take prompt and decisive action to address this concern. This situation also highlights poor planning and mismanagement, as the contractor has excavated the existing cement road, leading to a wastage of public funds.”
