BharatPe, a leading fintech platform, has announced a significant expansion in its services by introducing a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) solution. This move marks a shift from its previous focus on merchant-to-merchant payments to now include consumer digital payments. The company unveiled its new UPI Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) service on Wednesday, aiming to enhance both individual and business transactions.

As part of this development, BharatPe has rebranded its buy-now-pay-later app ‘postpe’ to ‘BharatPe.’ This rebranding integrates the app into BharatPe’s broader platform, unifying the services offered under one name. The new UPI feature allows users to create a UPI ID with the extension @bpunity, facilitating seamless transactions with both individuals and merchants.

The company has shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) stating that,

“Super News! We’ve now ventured into consumer payments with the launch of our UPI TPAP (Third-Party Application Provider) offering!

As part of this exciting development, postpe is now BharatPe. This rebrand unites all our services under one powerful name, ensuring you continue to enjoy the same simple, fast, and secure payment experience, now backed by BharatPe’s trusted platform.

It’s one thing to make payments; it’s another to do it effortlessly with BharatPe.

BharatPe’s CEO, Nalin Negi, emphasized the platform’s commitment to advancing digital payments. “With our UPI TPAP, we aim to enable millions across Bharat to make seamless and secure UPI transactions, for their individual as well as business needs,” Negi said. The introduction of this feature is expected to boost financial inclusion and drive the adoption of digital payments nationwide.

The rebranded BharatPe app, now available on Android, will soon be launched on the Apple App Store. Kohinoor Biswas, Business Head – Consumer at BharatPe, highlighted the strategic alignment of the rebranding. “Rebranding our consumer app as BharatPe aligns with our goal of providing a unified brand and platform for both consumers and merchants,” Biswas stated. He also noted that while BharatPe is not the first to launch a TPAP in India, the company has enhanced the app experience with a strong focus on security and user trust.

The UPI integration is expected to streamline payment processes, making it easier for users to handle transactions via their mobile devices. BharatPe’s new app aims to cater to a broader customer base and integrate seamlessly with its existing merchant ecosystem, providing a comprehensive digital payment solution.
