BMC shares progress on Mumbai's ambitious coastal road project

Pune: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is diligently working on the coastal road initiative, designed to link the South Mumbai area of Marine Drive to Kandivali in the western suburbs, utilizing the existing Bandra Worli Sea Link. Anticipated to alleviate northbound traffic congestion in Mumbai, the initial phase covers a 10.58-km stretch from Marine Drive to Worli in South Mumbai.

As per information from the Instagram handle of the BMC, “From the skies to your screen! Mumbai Coastal Road (South) is now 82.51% complete! Dive into the transformation with this mesmerizing drone view. Progress at its finest!”

Following is the individual progress of areas on this coastal road:

  •      Priyadarshini Park to Baroda Palace – 83.82% complete
  •       Baroda Palace to Worli – Bandra Sea Link – 69.46% complete
  •       Princess Street Flyover (Marine Drive) to Priyadarshini Park – 90.77% complete
