BRTS lanes to remain open for vehicular flow from Vadgaon Sheri Chowk and Kharadi Juna Zakat Naka on January 1
Pune: The BRTS lane from Vadgaon Sheri Chowk and Kharadi Juna Zakat Naka will be opened for vehicular traffic to avoid jams on Pune-Ahmednagar highway in view of 205th celebration of the battle of Koregaon Bhima at Perne Phata, on January 1, 2022. People from far and wide visit Koregaon Bhima on January 1.
The Pune-Ahmednagar road is the main route used by people from Pune, Mumbai, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur to reach Koregaon Bhima. Followers also come to pay respects to Jayastambh from the Ahmednagar road.
There is a possibility of heavy traffic on both the lanes and so the officials have come up with this solution for a day.
By opening the BRTS lanes on both the routes, more space will be available for the vehicles of the followers going to Jayastambh and traffic jams can be averted, informed Vijaykumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police.
