There’s excitement brewing among alcohol enthusiasts worldwide as a new entrant hits the market, catering to the tastes of discerning consumers. India, known for its love of diverse alcoholic beverages, witnesses the launch of Camikara, a luxurious rum poised to rival the long-reigning Old Monk.

Crafted by Piccadilly Distilleries, Camikara marks India’s foray into luxury rum production, garnering attention both domestically and internationally. This exceptional rum, derived from sugarcane juice, boasts a distinctive flavour profile devoid of added sugars, setting it apart in the realm of spirits.

Camikara’s accolades precede its arrival, having clinched gold and silver medals at the prestigious Rum & Cachaca Masters 2024 competition, along with securing the top position in the Agricole Old Rum category.

Siddharth Sharma, the visionary founder of Piccadilly Distilleries, emphasizes the brand’s mission to redefine perceptions surrounding rum. Sharma states, “Rum is often associated with affordability. By infusing sugarcane juice, we aim to imbue Camikara with the essence of Indian terroir, elevating it to a symbol of luxury.”

Quality remains paramount, with Camikara surpassing its global counterparts in craftsmanship and flavour. Priced at Rs 6200 for 750 ml, Camikara caters to connoisseurs seeking a premium drinking experience, with varying prices across regions.

As Camikara emerges as a formidable contender in the world of spirits, it signifies a shift in preferences and an embrace of luxury within India’s vibrant alcohol culture.
