CBSE announces percentage calculation criteria for class X and XII

Pune: The official notification from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided clarification on the percentage calculation criteria for CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations. According to the notification, CBSE has referred to the examination by-laws and emphasized that no overall division or distinction/aggregate will be given.

The CBSE has been receiving numerous requests from individuals seeking information about the criteria used to calculate students’ percentages in the board examinations. In response to this, the board said that as per sub-section 40.1 (iii) of Chapter 7 of the examination by-laws, no overall division, distinction, or aggregate will be awarded.

The notification specifies that in the case where a candidate has taken more than five subjects, the responsibility of selecting the best five subjects rests with the admitting institution or employer. The CBSE does not undertake the calculation or announcement of percentages; this task is managed by institutions or employers for the purpose of higher education or employment.

The release date for the CBSE Class 10, 12 date sheet 2024 is imminent, as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce it soon. To access the CBSE Class 10, 12 date sheet 2024, individuals can visit the official website, cbse.gov.in, and download it from there.
