Chinchwad: Independent candidate Rahul Kalate criticised the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), accusing them of neglecting the needs of the common man. He was speaking at the public meeting held in Ravet today evening. The sabha also saw attendance of Vanchit Bahujan Vikas Aghadi President Prakash Ambedkar who extended full support to Kalate in the upcoming Chinchwad by-poll election.

During his speech, Kalate highlighted issues such as water problems, unauthorised constructions, and penalty tax, which he claims have not been addressed by the BJP and NCP when they were in power at both civic administration and state level.

Prakash Ambedkar, who was present at the meeting to extend his support to Kalate, said, “Rahul Kalate knows about the issues in Chinchwad, and he has the ability to solve them. In fact, last time he was lost the election by very less margin. We have all seen that NCP’s candidate in the previous elections could hardly get 40,000 votes, whereas Rahul Kalate received 1,12,000 votes. Kalate is educated and understands the problems. Hence we decided to support Kalate. “

Kasba and Chinchwad consituency should have been given to Shivsena. If NCP had to give a candidate they should have given a powerful candidate. But what NCP has given now will only benefit BJP. NCP should have given ticket to Rahul Kalate. Infact, we had suggested NCP that we would join NCP in the rallies. But since they did not give a strong, powerful candidate we decided to withdraw our support to NCP and extend support to Rahul Kalate.

If we have to end unemployment, the government must divert funds through public sector towards the youths. This will provide employment to the youth. We are buying crude oil in less than the 25 dollar from the international market, but still the petrol and diesel prices are soaring high. Where are our funds going ? Devendra Fadnavis who is aspiring to become a minister in the central government must answer this. Domestic cylinder is available at retail price even for those availing under Ujjwala Gas Yojana. We all have to fight against such wrongdoings.”, Ambedkar added.
