Clear debris, build wall along nala near Bhim Nagar; demand residents

More than 350 residents of Kondhwa’s Bhim Nagar complained that the residents are living in great discomfort and life risk as the garbage dumps, mosquito breeding and absence of wall safeguarding the homes.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s NIBM President alongwith residents of the area recently met Dr Kunal Khemnar, additional commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation and demanded to clear the debris from nala near Bhim Nagar. The members of MNS also informed that the PMC should also fumigate anti mosquito spray, clear the debris from the nala and also on the banks of nala and construct retaining wall along the nala. 

Rohan Gaikwad, president, NIBM, MNS Pune told Pune Pulse that we have submitted a memorandum to Additional Commissioner of PMC Dr Kunal Khemnar regarding the construction of compound wall for the nala which is located at Prabhag No 26 Kausar Baug area next to Bhim nagar colony. We  requested cleaning of the entire nala, as the said area is stinking with foul smell.

Spraying medicine for precautions over dengue, etc was one of the request in the memorandum. Dr Khemnar have directed the PMC officials for immediate action over the said issue.” 

When Pune Pulse spoke to Dr Kunal Khemnar, additional commissioner, PMC said, “The officials have been instructed to clean the nala as well as check on the ownership of the land. Further orders will be given to build construction wall along the nala once it’s done.” 

Anam Shaikh, a resident of Bhim Nagar complained that the flash floods had created havoc. Many people lost their valuables in this rains. We had complained about the problems around our locality such as garbage menace, mosquito problem, construction of wall but there was no solution to it. Our lives are at great risk. 

Speaking to Nanda Lonkar, local Corporator, Prabhag 26 said that work on constructing wall shall begin soon. Rs 10 lakh have been sanctioned for the same.
