COEP structural audit gives shocking disclosure about Pune metro

Pune : COEP Technological University Professor BG Birajdar conducted a structural audit of around 4 to 5 Pune Metro stations 3 to 4 months ago.
Speaking about the audit, Birajdar, Professor of Applied Mechanics, at COEP Technological University, stated that during the structural audit, they take the concerned organization’s demands into account. They have taken Maha Metro’s permission to examine the stations’ upper levels. As a result, they reviewed only the upper portion of the report before submitting it.
The foot portion was not reviewed. Only the space above the metro stations is covered by the structural audit. Girders, pillars and foundations were not included. The MahaMetro asked them not to examine these areas. Thus, these items are not covered.
As per information shared by Birajdar, COEP Tech University completed the last structural audit of the stations along the Metro Vanaz to Garware College route. Professor Birajdar was in charge of this structural audit. There were a few academics and research students present. The team led by Birajdar spent four to five days inspecting Metro stations.
Subsequently, the university sent Maha Metro the structural audit report. Maha Metro had asserted that the stations are secure based on this report.
