In a disturbing incident near the Baramati air strip, two masked men robbed a 21-year-old college student of her gold jewellery worth Rs89,000. What’s more, they subjected her and her friend to further humiliation by taking photos of them after compelling them to disrobe.

The perpetrators threatened to upload these images on social media if the victims approached the police.

According to the complaint lodged with the Baramati taluka police, the student and her friend were chatting inside their car parked alongside the road when the masked men approached them around 7:30 pm. Brandishing a knife, the assailants forced the victims out of the car and demanded cash. Upon finding no cash, they coerced the student to hand over her gold chain and earrings.

After taking the jewellery, the robbers assaulted the friend and then forced both victims to undress near a nearby trench. They proceeded to take photographs of the victims and threatened to release them online. Additionally, they demanded Rs1 lakh through UPI, threatening further violence when the demand was refused.

The police have initiated a search to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. This disturbing incident highlights the vulnerability of individuals to such heinous crimes and underscores the need for increased vigilance and security measures.
