Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra and Parcel Packing Unit inaugurated at Market Yard Post Office
On November 1, the Department of Posts inaugurated the Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra and Parcel Packing Unit at Market Yard Sub Post Office in Pune City East Division, Pune-411037.
The inauguration was conducted by Ramchandra Jayabhaye, Postmaster General, Pune Region, in the presence of Dr. Abhijit D. Ichake, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Pune City East Division. This new initiative aims to facilitate both international and domestic parcel customers and provide a quick and single window to the residents of PMC area, especially from Market Yard, NIBM, Wanowarie, Bibvewadi area.
The Parcel Packing Centre at Market Yard sub-post office offers a complete solution for parcels with competitive rates, including packing, wrapping, strapping, and booking of all types of parcels at one point. The center is equipped with a mechanized parcel packing machine and wrapping machine, and a dedicated counter arrangement is made at the Market Yard Sub Post Office. Additionally, the Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra serves as a one-stop destination for exporters, providing comprehensive assistance and streamlined processes for export-related documentation, logistics, customs procedures, and packing.
The salient features of Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (DGNK) include paperless custom clearance, API integrated service, 24 X 7 self-booking service, contract facility with advance deposit available, one-time documentation at the time of registration, tie-up with maximum countries compared to private couriers, parcel packaging facility at a nominal rate, and no customs clearance fees at India Post (DGNK).
As a result, international mail booking charges are lower compared to other couriers. The Department of Posts has encouraged the public to take advantage of this facility during the festive season of “Diwali” due to the high demand for booking and packing parcels domestically and internationally.
