Demand Raised For 50 Additional Traffic Wardens to Ease Congestion in Baner-Balewadi Area

The Baner-Balewadi area has been facing a significant increase in traffic congestion in recent days, leading to numerous complaints from concerned citizens.

Taking note of the situation, today the Police Inspector of the Transport Branch, Chaturshrungi Division, Babasaheb Koli, visited several key intersections including Mamta Chowk, Radha Chowk, Ganapati Mandir Chowk Balewadi Phata, Nanavare Chowk, Bitwise Chowk, Ganraj Chowk, and Kalamkar Chowk from 8 AM to 12 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM.

Amol Balwadkar, former corporator of Balewadi area said, “During this visit, a written statement was submitted, urging the immediate deployment of 50 additional traffic wardens in the area and an increase in their working hours at all intersections to streamline the traffic system. In response, Koli promptly approached the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to request an augmentation of traffic wardens in the specified area. He also reached out to Rathi of the Metro, who has assured swift action to increase the number of traffic wardens in the Baner-Balewadi area.”
