The Director General of Police (DGP) of Maharashtra Rashmi Shukla has appealed everyone to come together & join hands for a stronger and safer Maharashtra.

As per further information from the X handle of DGP Rashmi Shukla “It has been a month since I took over the charge of the State Police as its Director General. I wish to take this opportunity to extend warm greetings to each one of you on behalf of the state’s police and share with you my learnings from this brief period along with my vision for the path ahead.”

The tweet further continues “At the outset, I must express the deep privilege that is mine to once again serve and protect alongside the dedicated men and women of the Maharashtra Police. From what I have seen so far, I remain convinced that its core, the Maharashtra Police remains one of the finest forces in the country.”

The tweet states “My central priority is ensuring the safety and security of each and every citizen across Maharashtra. I believe that our policing is ineffective without winning the trust and support of the community that we serve. However, it seems vital to recognize that at some level, the public’s faith in our police force has diminished. Moving past the errors of the past, I recognize it is our responsibility to win back your trust and assure you that all police units in the state are and will continue working diligently to protect you and your rights.”

The tweet further states “I return to the state armed with invaluable experience gained from leading a Central Police Force and I am committed to fostering the highest standards of professional conduct among all police personnel in the state. We will rebuild bridges between police and communities, and I will not tolerate any unjustified acts of violence, exploitation, or misconduct by any members of the police force. If any citizen in the state finds themselves aggrieved and unable to ensure justice is done to them by the concerned police officers, I urge them to bring it to our notice at the DG’s office. My team of officers and I shall do everything possible to assist you at the earliest.”

The tweet said “At the same time, I am committed to ensuring that our police force is equipped with the necessary resources and training to carry out their duties with both safety and effectiveness. As DGP, I will provide the maximum support for the courageous police men and women who risk their lives daily in our service.”

The tweet further said “The challenges before us are many and varied, and we will surely face some trying times. However, I assure you that during my tenure, the Maharashtra Police will rise to confront these challenges without hesitation or bias. However, in this endeavour, we may not succeed alone. We’ll need your help and co-operation every step of the way. In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to directly connecting with you to better understand your issues and concerns. Till then, I humbly ask for your support as we embark on this new chapter together. We will work tirelessly to build a Maharashtra where everyone can live, work, and thrive without fear. Jai Hind! Jai Maharashtra!”
