Dumping spot at Nyati Chowk gets a revamp

Together we can make a big difference. Yes, the residents of Nyati County have shown the right way. Tired of seeing the dumping spot at Nyati Chowk in Mohamadwadi, the residents decided to take up the matter in their hands and approached the sanitary inspector of Prabhag 26 of Mohamadwadi, local Corporator Pramod Bhangire and urged them to clean as well as bring a permanent solution.

After about two months, the spot is clean and also beautified by making seating arrangement and a small patch of lawn to make it eye pleasing. A grand inauguration of the initiative was held on Sunday December 19, 2021 at the hands of Ex Member of Parliament Shirur constituency Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, Prabhag 26 Corporator Prachi Alhat, ex Corporator Tanaji Lonkar, Assistant Commissioner of Hadapsar ward office Prasad Katkar, Rajendra Babar, Vijay Deshmukh, senior Shivsena leader, Sameer Tupe, members of Nyati County Residents Forum and Mohamadwadi residents.
Deepa Cheema from Nyati County Residents Forum said, “Entering into Nyati County was very painful. The constant dumping at the spot was affecting the beauty of the area. We approached our corporator, ward officer and local sanitary inspectors for bringing in a permanent solution. Today after two months of rigorous follow up with the corporator, PMC now the place is clean and beautified. We hope that it remains beautiful forever. More local citizens should be active and vocal about the issues in their neighborhood and be a part of the change.”
Pramod Bhangire, local Corporator, Prabhag 26 said, “The chronic spot at Nyati Chowk was bothering us all for a long time. The residents from the neighbouring societies also approached me several times to clean up. But this spot needed a permanent solution. This time when we all sat down to discuss, I decided to clean and also beautify it. We have cleaned up the spot completely and made seating arrangement. Eight close circuit surveillance system is also installed around the area for security.”
Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil in his speech said, “I have been very fortunate to have witness such milestone projects which have been initiated by Pramod Bhangire in his ward. He comes up with unique initiatives and has totally transformed Mohamadwadi.”
Prasad Katkar assistant commissioner Hadapsar ward office while speaking to Pune Pulse said, “We shall ensure to decrease the number of chronic spots and beautify them with help of CSR. For the next one week we shall appoint a security to keep an eye and also urge people to maintain it.”
The program also saw inauguration of CCTV surveillance system installed from Nyati Chowk to Kool Homes society near Delhi Public School in Mohamadwadi.
