E-vehicle to pick up waste from Prabhag 26
For the first time, Pune Municipal Corporation’s Prabhag 26 Nibm Kausarbaugh Mohamadwadi has received an E vehicle to pick up not just e-waste, but also wet waste, clothes, and all sorts of waste.
The brainchild of this initiative to bring the vehicle was taken by the members of NIBM Undri Road Residents Forum who consistently followed up with the local Corporator Nanda Lonkar and got this vehicle sanctioned from the civic body.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Nanda Lonkar, said, “I am proud to have such proactive residents in my ward who are working with me to make Prabhag 26 Garbage free. This is one step towards making it clean. This is an E-vehicle from my funds which will help us in reducing the waste piling up at the dumpyard. Since it will work on electricity it will not contribute to pollution also. I urge my residents to handover their segregated waste to the vehicle.”
Shehnaz Chawla and Parveen Tambe who were present while the inauguration was being conducted, shared that our vision of NIBM UNDRI Road Residents Forum is to make our area Garbage free. This is our baby step towards our goal. We request residents to co-operate with us by giving us segregated waste.
Working on women empowerment in our area has been Nanda Lonkars objective and hence this e-vehicle will be driven by women.
