Social Security Cell seized music systems of eateries in Kalyani Nagar playing loud music

Pune City Police’s Social Security Cell took action against several bars, eateries from Yerwada and Kalyani Nagar for hosting musical parties beyond 10 PM and flouting the Environment Protection Act 1986, playing loud music beyond permissible limit.

The music systems of these eateries were confiscated by the police officials for violating the Environment Protection Act, 1986 (Sound Pollution), amendment in 2000 under section 5. Music system of Zapa Hotel and Grill and Hotel Highland from Kalyani Nagar and Yerwada were seized.

Music system worth Rs 2 lakh has been seized by the Yerwada police station. The action was carried under guidance of Ritesh Kumar, commissioner, Pune city Police, Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, additional commissioner (crime) Shriniwas Ghadge, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, Vijay Kumbhar, police inspector, social security cell, API Ashwini Patil, API Aniket Pote, Police constable Anna Mane, Manish Pokale, Tushar Bhivarkar, Imran Nadaf, Pushpinder Chavan.

The action was taken on December 28 by Social Security Cell in Kalyani Nagar and Yerwada.
