Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation( PMC) has planned to introduce an environmentally friendly mobile immersion chariot for the immersion of Ganesh idols.

The PMC is urging all citizens to adopt alternative methods of immersion that do not involve natural water sources. To facilitate this, artificial immersion wells and environment-friendly mobile immersion wells have been set up at various locations throughout the city.

A total of 150 eco-friendly mobile chariots will be installed under the supervision of 15 regional offices, with 10 per regional office. Immersion chariots have been provided for the immersion of Ganesh idols. These chariots are equipped with a decorated tank for immersion, a light system, a separate system for collecting nirmalya (religious offerings), and a speaker to address citizens and raise awareness.

These arrangements will be available from September 25 onwards. According to the plans made by the regional offices, the operation of the environment-friendly mobile immersion chariots will take place on designated routes from September 23 to September 29 (excluding September 26).

To assist citizens in locating the environment-friendly mobile immersion tanks, the routes determined by the regional offices have been published on the PMC’s website.

Additionally, the civic body has provided a link on its website (http://35.165.18.115/livevisarjan.aspx) to track the live location of the mobile immersion chariots.

Citizens have been informed about the routes and live locations of the eco-friendly mobile immersion tanks through the Pune Municipal website and social media platforms. It is requested that citizens refrain from throwing nirmalya into rivers and lakes. The Municipal Commissioner has made this request to all citizens of Pune.
