Pune: The Pune City Police has issued a warning regarding the use of drones during the Ganesh festival, as officials from the special branch team have discovered numerous drone videos uploaded on social media platforms.

In an official order, the city police had previously prohibited the use of drones in the city during the Ganesh festival due to safety concerns. The police have received information about drone videos of Laxmi Road being uploaded on Instagram.

Legal action, including the registration of an FIR under relevant sections of the Aircraft Act, Drone Rules, and Indian Penal Code (IPC), can be taken in this matter.

The social media cell of Pune Police’s special branch is currently gathering information on this issue, and citizens are urged to refrain from the illegal use of drones in the city. An official order to ban the use of drones during the Ganesh festival is already in effect.

The city police have prohibited the use of drones, microlight aircraft, hang gliders, paramotors, hot air balloons, and similar devices between September 19 and 25, considering the safety of citizens visiting Ganesh pandals during the ten-day festival.
