Entrepreneur and Shark Tank India judge, Vineeta Singh, has taken a stand against persistent rumours claiming her death. On Saturday, she used her social media platform to dismiss the false claims that have been circulating for weeks.
Sharing a screenshot of a misleading report titled “A hard day for India: We say goodbye to Vineeta Singh,” Singh refuted the allegations. She clarified that such untrue reports have been circulating for the past five weeks. Despite her efforts to combat misinformation by filing complaints with authorities and reporting to social media platforms, the rumors have continued to spread.
“Been dealing with paid PR about my death & my arrest for 5 weeks. Ignored it at first, then reported to @Meta several times, and filed a @Mum_CyberPolice complaint but it’s not stopping. The hardest part is when folks panic & call my mom. Any suggestions?” Vineeta Singh expressed her frustration in a tweet.
Singh also expressed her dismay at people reaching out to her family to verify the false news. Seeking advice from netizens on how to address the ongoing misinformation, she highlighted the distress caused by the situation.
In response to Singh’s post, many social media users expressed concern and called for swift action against the spread of fake news.
The Mumbai Police also reached out to Singh, urging her to contact them. She expressed gratitude for their support.
Vineeta Singh has been a key figure in Shark Tank India since its inception. Recently, she shared a lively video from the wrap-up party of the show’s third season on her Instagram, thanking her fellow sharks and the production team.
