According to a recent report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), Maha Metro paid Rs 146 crore in excess to consultancy firms for the Pune Metro Rail Project.

The report also revealed that the tendering process was not followed for granting the work of the project’s general consultancy.

The report criticized Maha Metro’s claims of cost savings and delays in the tendering process and noted that this indicates poor management techniques and a lack of transparency in the project.

The total value of the general consultant contract for the Pune Metro Rail Project was Rs 368.09 crore, of which Rs 221.93 crore was allocated to the Nagpur Metro Rail Project.

The CAG report criticized the avoidance of tendering high-value contracts and called it a lack of transparency and poor project management. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Pune, criticized the tendering process and demanded an in-depth investigation of the matter.
