Eyebrows Rise: Father’s Health Emergency, Wedding Postponed Indefinitely… Now Smriti Mandhana Deletes All Posts With Palash — What’s Really Happening?
The India opener removed all engagement and wedding content from Instagram after postponing her Sangli ceremony with composer Palash Muchhal.
Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana has taken down all her wedding-related posts from Instagram, a day after her much-awaited ceremony with music composer Palash Muchhal was indefinitely postponed. The decision came after her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered symptoms of a heart attack on the morning of the wedding and was rushed to a private hospital in Sangli, Maharashtra.

Smriti’s father remains under medical observation, and doctors have confirmed that he experienced a cardiac episode while having breakfast on Sunday. The couple’s wedding, which was scheduled to take place at the Mandhana family’s farm in Sangli on Sunday evening, was cancelled immediately after the health emergency. Relatives who had already arrived for the ceremony returned home as decorations were taken down the same night.
Shortly after the postponement, reports also emerged that Palash Muchhal had been admitted to a hospital due to a viral infection. He has since been discharged and travelled to Mumbai on Monday.
Fans noticed that Smriti had removed all her wedding and engagement content from social media, including the viral stadium proposal video that had garnered millions of views. Her teammates Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil, who had earlier shared posts celebrating the engagement, also deleted related content from their profiles. Informal posts of the couple from earlier months, however, still remain visible on Smriti’s timeline.

Smriti and Palash were reportedly in a relationship for six years and had recently confirmed their engagement through coordinated Instagram announcements. The cricketer had also been seen dancing with teammates during pre-wedding celebrations, adding to the anticipation among fans.
Professionally, Smriti is coming off a historic World Cup campaign, where she played a crucial role in India’s first-ever Women’s World Cup title. She scored 434 runs in nine matches, finishing as the tournament’s second-highest run-getter with a century and multiple half-centuries.
While the couple has not issued an official statement, sources close to the family say the wedding will be rescheduled after her father’s recovery.
