First case of Omicron found in Pune

First case of Omicron variant of Covid19 was found in Pune today. Pune Municipal Corporation Mayor Murlidhar Mohol informed that first case of Omicron variant of Covid19 was found in Pune and that his health is fine. Mohol said, “The patient is absolutely fine and RTPCR test of all those in his contact are being tested. Their reports bare awaited. This patient is sent for institutional quarantine as per the guidelines.”

Mohol further said that there is no need to panic and believe in rumours. PMC health infrastructure is able to handle any adverse situation and all PMC hospitals and private hospitals too are prepared for any incident. He added, “We have identified 370 people who have come to Pune for from foreign countries and PMC has reached to 335 people directly. All these people have been to get their RTPCR tests. I urge that citizens should get themselves vaccinated at the earliest. The first patient of Omicron variant of Covid19 has taken both the doses.”
