Air travel options for residents of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region are set to widen significantly as IndiGo prepares to roll out a fresh set of direct connections from Navi Mumbai Airport starting 29 March. The expansion will link the airport with six destinations — Ahmedabad, Goa, Rajkot, Belagavi, Kolhapur and Diu — strengthening regional connectivity and offering passengers more convenient alternatives to existing routes.

The move was confirmed in an official announcement by the airport authorities, highlighting a strategic push to connect Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities with the Mumbai region. These flights will be operated using ATR aircraft, typically deployed on short-haul regional sectors. With the summer schedule coming into effect at the end of March, several additional services are also expected to be introduced, increasing daily flight frequency and improving overall travel flexibility.

Connectivity between Gujarat and the Mumbai region is expected to receive a notable boost through this development. The Ahmedabad service will operate daily, departing Ahmedabad at 7:10 PM and arriving in Navi Mumbai at 8:40 PM. The return leg will leave Navi Mumbai at 9:10 PM and reach Ahmedabad at 10:35 PM, making it a convenient same-evening travel option for business and leisure passengers.

Morning travelers will benefit from the Rajkot route, which will depart Navi Mumbai at 7:00 AM and land in Rajkot at 8:15 AM. The return service will take off at 8:45 AM and arrive back in Navi Mumbai at 9:45 AM. This early schedule is expected to cater especially to business travelers seeking quick turnaround trips.

Flights to Diu will also operate daily. The departure from Navi Mumbai is scheduled at 10:05 AM, with arrival in Diu at 11:15 AM. The return journey will commence at 11:40 AM, ensuring same-day connectivity between the two destinations.

While detailed timings for Belagavi and Kolhapur services are yet to be released, officials have confirmed that these schedules will be announced shortly. Their inclusion further underlines the focus on enhancing regional air links and making smaller cities more accessible from the financial capital’s extended airport network.

Notably, Navi Mumbai Airport has been functioning round-the-clock since 1 February, allowing 24-hour flight operations. This operational flexibility is expected to support the addition of more routes and higher flight frequencies in the coming months.

Commercial passenger services at the airport originally began on 25 December 2025. Since its inauguration, the airport has witnessed a strong response from travelers across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Plans are also underway to introduce cargo services soon, which will further strengthen the airport’s role as a growing aviation hub.
