Pune : On Thursday, it was reported that a Royal Bengal Tiger, was found in a forest in Odisha, has travelled over 2,000 kilometres through four states, possibly in pursuit of appropriate habitat. Previously, the identical feline was sighted in a forest in Maharashtra.

As per reports, the male tiger with a stripe pattern in a forest of Maharashtra has been spotted in the Mahendra Forest range of Gajapati district in Odisha since September. Upon spotting the large feline within their jurisdiction, officials from the Parlakhemundi forest division in Gajapati district have been monitoring the movements of the wild animal. In order to determine the tiger’s original territory, they have shared pictures and other relevant information with the Wildlife Institute of India, as this is the first time the tiger has been seen in the area.

The WII has verified that the camera trap image corresponds to a tiger that was previously captured on camera in the Bramhapuri forest division of Maharashtra. Based on its distinct stripe patterns and other identifying features, it has been confirmed that the tiger has travelled approximately 2,000 km from Maharashtra to Odisha, passing through four states – Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha.

As per the information provided, the cow’s death caused a state of panic among the residents of Analabara village. Officials have urged the public to not be alarmed and to heed the guidance of forest officials. As the tiger census is currently being conducted in the state, the majestic felines are being captured on camera.
