G-20: Pune is all set to welcome foreign delegates

The Guardian Minister of Pune Chandrakant Patil reviewed the work on January 9th. He praised the administration for doing the cleanliness, repair and maintenance work, better than expected.

The repair and maintenance work in the city is in the final stages, just as Pune is preparing to host the G-20 summit meetings and also, welcome foreign delegates.

The Guardian Minister of Pune Chandrakant Patil reviewed the work on January 9th. He praised the administration for doing the cleanliness, repair and maintenance work, better than expected.

He said, “More than 150 delegates from 37 countries will come for this conference. All security and etiquette should be taken care of. Industrial and investment potential of Pune, Maharashtra should be displayed to its full capacity during the G-20 summit.”

Five exhibition halls will be set up next to the ‘G-20’ meeting venue. The halls will exhibit information about the ongoing works related to the development of the city’s infrastructure by the Pune Municipal Corporation. Halls displaying the industrial potential of Maharashtra and Pune will be set up by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, Indian Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation (TRIFED) and Maharashtra Khadi and village industry products.

Products by women’s and self-help groups will also be displayed.

For the guests, a royal banquet has been organized at Pune University on January 16. On this occasion, cultural programmes such as Puneri Dhol Team, Mandari Khel of Maharashtra, Lavani Jugalbandi, Shiv Vandana and Ganesha Stuti will be presented.
