Girija Oak to Host CM Fadnavis for a Special Interview in Pune
Pune, January 9, 2026: With Pune Municipal Corporation elections on the horizon, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Pune city unit has announced a special citizen interaction programme titled ‘Samvad Punekaranshi’, aimed at presenting a long-term vision for the city’s development.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will interact directly with Pune residents on Sunday, January 11, at 7 pm at Shubharambh Lawns in Erandwane. Noted Marathi film actress Girija Oak will conduct the interview on behalf of Punekars. Representatives from various sectors and prominent citizens are expected to attend.
Briefing the media, BJP state general secretary Rajesh Pande said the session will be broadcast live on large screens across all municipal wards, enabling over five lakh citizens to watch the programme simultaneously. The initiative, he said, is designed to boost public participation and establish direct communication between the state leadership and citizens.
The programme will also mark the launch of the BJP’s ‘Ghar Chalo’ outreach campaign. Under the two-day drive, party workers will distribute the election manifesto, or Sankalpnama, to nearly 10 lakh households across the city.
Pande said Pune has historically shaped India’s cultural, social and economic direction, and now needs visionary leadership to balance heritage conservation, environmental protection, industrial expansion and quality urban living. He added that CM Fadnavis, who has closely studied the city’s civic challenges, will outline a comprehensive roadmap for Pune’s future during the interaction.
