PUNE: The ICC World Cup to take place at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) stadium in Gahunje, which is set to host a highly anticipated cricket match. This has resulted in a surge of hotel bookings in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad from October 16 to 19.
According to the World Cup schedule, the match between India and Bangladesh is slated for October 19 in Pune. Consequently, hotels in Pune are nearly fully booked during this time, leading to an increase in room rates. A member of the Pune Hotel Association confirmed this trend.
Typically, five-star hotels in Pune charge between Rs 8,000 and 10,000 per day. However, on October 19, the rates have skyrocketed to Rs 20,000 to 25,000 due to the cricket match at the MCA stadium in Pune.
This is the first time that the MCA stadium in Gahunje will host ICC World Cup matches. Cricket enthusiasts have wasted no time securing their tickets for the match. The booking window quickly closed after opening, with all tickets selling out in a remarkably short span.
