Grand Padyatra of Shruti Ram Wakadkar Begins with Ritual at Kalbhairavnath Temple as BJP Panel Launches Ward 25 Campaign in Punawale
Punawale, January 7: With the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections approaching, the BJP panel officially launched its campaign in Ward 25 (Wakad–Tathawade–Punawale) with a traditional ritual at the revered Kalbhairavnath Temple in Punawale on Tuesday evening. The campaign began by offering a coconut at the deity’s feet, marking an auspicious start rooted in faith, culture, and a clear commitment to development. The launch received an enthusiastic response from local residents.
Following the ceremony, a grand padyatra was organised, energising the entire area. Slogans of “Experience for development, dedication to service” echoed through the streets as the procession moved ahead with drumbeats, cheers from party workers, and strong public participation. The padyatra added momentum to the election campaign and drew attention across Punawale, Tathawade, and Wakad.
The procession saw the presence of candidate Shruti Ram Wakadkar along with Rahul Kalate, Reshma Chetan Bhujbal, and Kunal Vavhalkar. Large numbers of party office-bearers, grassroots workers, and local villagers joined in, reflecting growing enthusiasm on the ground.
Shruti Ram Wakadkar: A Credible Face of Development
Shruti Ram Wakadkar emerged as the focal point of the campaign. Known for her consistent social work, on-ground approach to civic issues, and direct engagement with the administration, she is widely regarded as a leader who listens, acts, and delivers solutions.
During the padyatra, Wakadkar interacted directly with residents and took note of their concerns. She clearly outlined her stand on key civic issues such as water supply, roads, traffic management, waste disposal, healthcare facilities, gardens, and focused schemes for women and senior citizens. “This ward is not just my constituency, it is my family. Development, transparency, and people’s participation are at the core of my agenda,” she said while addressing citizens.
Strong Public Support on Display
Senior citizens, women, youth, and local traders from the Punawale area participated in large numbers. At several points along the route, residents welcomed the procession with flower showers, traditional aarti, and warm wishes. Many citizens remarked that Shruti Wakadkar is a familiar presence in their neighbourhoods and not someone who appears only during elections.
BJP Panel Reiterates Development Commitment
The BJP panel has presented a clear and comprehensive development roadmap for Ward 25, with emphasis on cleanliness, strong civic infrastructure, smart amenities, better schools and healthcare centres, and improved safety. The campaign launch highlighted the party’s organisational strength, committed workforce, and growing public trust.
